Broward County, FL – The Round Table Group proudly announces its selection as a finalist for the 2024 Project of the Year Award by PMI South Florida. This recognition highlights the team’s exceptional work on Activating the Indian Diaspora Through Sports & Entertainment: Cross-Cultural Impact with the Round Table Group.
The project was a momentous collaboration that included the ICC T20 World Cup, Kash Patel Productions, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, uniting international sports phenomena, Bollywood’s cultural influence, and world-class facilities.
The initiative’s focal point was a landmark Hard Rock Live Hollywood event featuring Bollywood legends Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam. Designed to connect cricket enthusiasts with Bollywood fans, the event celebrated the dynamic culture of the Indian diaspora while fostering union across cultural and generational divides.
We set out to create a dynamic series of events to encourage cultural connection through mutual interest, build actionable community, and generate economic impact,” said Jason Shaw, CEO of The Round Table Group. “This recognition highlights our commitment to delivering experiences that bring people together and create lasting value for our partners and the communities we serve.
Innovative Project Management
The Round Table Group used a Hybrid Project Management approach to ensure the event’s success. Combining Waterfall methodologies for precise logistical planning with Agile strategies for flexible marketing and community enrollment. TRT was able to adapt quickly and effectively to address challenges with unpredictable weather and diverse audience needs.
Key highlights of the project include:
- Economic Impact: The events contributed an estimated $50 million to the local economy, boosting hotel occupancy and supporting local businesses.
- Community Engagement: The experiences strengthened connections within South Florida’s Indian diaspora and cricketing enthusiasts, fostering cultural exchange across geographical and generational lines.
- Operational Excellence: Flawless organization and venue logistics ensured attendee safety and delivered an engaging, high-energy event experience.
“Managing a project of this scope required precision, creativity, and adaptability,” said Joyce Mealey, SVP of The Round Table Group and Project Manager. “Seeing the excitement and connection this event brought to the community was incredibly fulfilling. This recognition highlights the importance of cultural projects, and I’m excited for what’s next.”
Overcoming Challenges and Delivering Results
The project presented unique challenges, including managing large-scale venues, addressing operational risks, and engaging a diverse audience. The team addressed these obstacles by:
- Curating programming that blended nostalgia with relevance, featuring performances from Bollywood icons Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam.
- Implementing advanced marketing strategies, like geo-targeted ads and partnerships with cultural influencers, to maximize visibility and sales.
- Coordinating robust operational plans to manage logistics, security, and attendee experience.
Looking Ahead
The Round Table Group is honored to be a finalist for PMI South Florida’s Project of the Year and eagerly awaits the winner announcement. This recognition already feels like a win, and building on this success, TRT is energized and ready to tackle more ambitious projects in the future.
